One Year Old in a Flash!

Brooks is one!  We had a party at our house a few weeks after Christmas.  I went with the theme "one in a flash" because I thought it was cute and it allowed me to go slightly crazy putting up pictures everywhere.  Unfortunately almost all the pictures I got were from before the party because I was so busy running around!

I made a banner for the fireplace with 8x10s of all his monthly photos and photo stickers.

I printed out all of my instagram pictures and used them to make a big 1 to hang over the fireplace.

I decorated our ent. center with some framed photos and some bunting made with leftover fabric from Gram's dog bandanas and his quilt that she made him.

More bunting and his O-N-E letters that I used at his photo shoot decorated with Photofetti.

I switched out the pics on our gallery wall to display a few firsts like first boat ride, first easter, etc.

I made cupcakes and used photofetti glued to toothpicks for the toppers.

Dessert table with cupcakes and cake pops made by Gram.

Nana came to the party and helped set up all of the food and decorations!

not a huge fan of birthday cake and everybody singing...

His birthday shirt was made by Amanda from Goat & Lulu on Etsy.

He had fun playing with all his friends and riding around the yard in his wagons and cars.

and he got to meet cousin jeff who came to town for the first time since our wedding.

We had so much fun celebrating our little one year old!  Happy Birthday buddy!

Merry Christmas 2015!

We headed out on a road trip to Granny's for Christmas this year.  I was really nervous about the car because he had not been much of a fan lately but he ended up doing really well!  He slept some and played a little bit and then at the very end of the trip when he was kind of over it we played a little Elmo on the iPad and he was fine the rest of the way.  He did great on the way home too!

A few weeks before we left we went to see Santa.  He was fine the whole time but as soon as we put him on Santa's lap he lost it.  I was secretly glad because I think the crying Santa pictures are so cute.  Sorry Brooks!

In the car (he rode the whole way in his jammies)

Playing dirty santa on Christmas eve.

He had fun opening presents!  He loves his fly bike

and his Noah's ark with all the animals.

He even got a "my phone".

My sister got brooks and chase matching jams…so cute!

and we had a little birthday party for him on Christmas night.  I made him a little "healthy" cake and some cupcakes.  We sang happy birthday and at first he was a little freaked out I think but then he ate it!

I used this recipe Healthy Baby's First Cake and I followed it pretty much exactly but I did put a little sugar in the frosting because it tasted pretty bad without it!

It was a great first christmas/birthday extravaganza!

12 months!

Brooks is one!  I will do a separate birthday post but I don't want to skip over month 11 on the way.

Health stats: This was a rough month for B.  I think we were at the dr. 3 or 4 different times with various things including one morning he woke up with this crazy rash…

so I took him to the dr. again and they think it was a reaction to the amoxicillin he was taking for his ear infection.  Poor thing!

Sleep: He is still sleeping great at night!  Usually around 7-7 finally THANK THE LORD.  All of these illnesses have really been messing with daytime sleep though.

Milestones: He is not walking yet but he is pulling up on everything and cruising.  He has started crawling ALL OVER the house constantly so I have to watch him like a hawk.

He is also eating pretty much everything under the sun now, and we even got him to eat some vegetable soup.  I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts before the chicken fingers and fries phase sets in.

We also celebrated Thanksgiving!  Todd's mom and dad were both here and his mom's friend Edie so we had a little crew.  He had a little bit of turkey but wasn't into much else.

He also had his first Hibachi experience.

Went pretty well…no tears!
