20 months!

I feel like a lot has been changing with Brooks this month.  He is talking so much more now and really starting to show us he has a mind of his own ;) He started spontaneously saying some full sentences this month and has a ton of words now.  Here are a few of the things he has been doing this month:

-saying "where daddy go?" almost every day like 50 times. I am chopped liver around here right now...
-napping 3 hours, not napping at all, napping 2 hours, napping 45 minutes-take your pick.  Not fun!
-everything is followed by please..."shoes please" "chip please" "show please" and even when he doesn't want to do something like get in the car or finish eating "no please"...it's very cute.
-he loves playing with trains and trucks now and reading books about trains and trucks
-he started "school" a little Moms Morning Out program 2 days a week for 3 hours
-he is obsessed with driving now to the point where the sight of his cozy coupe will send him into hysterics and you literally have to drag him out of it kicking and screaming! he loves to take the keys to the golf cart and pretend to turn his car off and on.
-in the interest of keeping it honest, and also being able to look back at this as a guideline for the next baby! a few little 2 year old behaviors are beginning to rear their ugly heads...a little pushing, not wanting to share toys, a little hitting here and there.

This is his new favorite thing...climb up in mommys bed and lay back on the pillows "show on, toodles on, show please!"

One rainy day we discovered the train table at Barnes and Noble...train table+Starbucks+chairs for mom= our new fav place!

Meet the teacher day at school

He loves this book and Gram got him the little doll that goes with the story

More trains!

More shows after a terrible nap...

Hanging out with Tyler at the children's museum

Sneaky!

He cried when we dropped him off (still does actually)

but a few minutes later the teachers sent me this so I think he has fun.

We go to the library a lot for story time and just to play but unfortunately they have the computers front and center in the children's section so thats ALL he wants to do.

Evening boat cruise...he must be the driver at all times

In his happy place!

Loves going to skyzone for toddler time...

Mom snuck out to go see luke bryan!

Evidence of the not napping...

19 Months!

We started off this month with a big trip up to Washington, D.C. for my dad's funeral.  It was a very beautiful and moving service at Arlington National Cemetery and we are very thankful that we now feel he is at rest and at peace.

As part of our trip, we were able to spend some time with Todd's family as well.  We had not been up to northern VA in several years, and we ended up staying for about a week and a half.
We started off our trip by heading out to Nags Head to vacation with Todd's family for a few days.  They rented a great house right across from the beach and it had a pool which B loved.

We also rented a Jeep one day and went to Currituck where you can drive on the beach and see all the wild horses.  B really enjoyed the drive and being able to face forward and see everything was a big deal!

We also found a little park that they have built out there kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it is really nice place to take a break and has bathrooms, picnic tables and water views!
We tired him out...this kid NEVER falls asleep in the car so you know he was exhausted.

All of the Potters on the beach

Once we got back to Woodbridge, we had to make a trip to Hooters "for the wings".

We also met up with my sister and her family and took all the kids to the National Zoo.

Chase was able to name all the animals!

"Driving" granddad's boat...he is now obsessed with driving anything...golf cart, boat, car, etc. He will say "i drive! i drive!"

dinner at Tim's River Shore

Once we got back home, we had B's friend Addy over to play one afternoon.

And we had a BBQ with a bunch of our friends and their kids

The kids had a blast playing with ice all afternoon
Another new favorite activity/obsession...trying on everyone's shoes!  This usually keeps him occupied while I am getting ready and he will even put them on and say "so cute so cute" haha

Playing at the park in our neighborhood while Nana was here for a visit.

Loves hats...and we still REALLY need to get the house painted...hopefully working on that next month!

big eater these days...ended up polishing off this whole sandwich plus a bunch of other stuff.

Wherever you try and hide your "pad" this kid will find it.

More "driving!"

B has also been "helping" me study...I am finally in my last year of grad school and SO ready to be done!
